Parish Staff

Following the retirement of our rector of 20 years,

The Reverend Canon David Lovelace,

St. John has embarked upon the discernment process

necessary to call another rector to our parish.

We are currently interviewing interim rector candidates

and will have supply priests with us

until that person is in place.

We are fortunate as a parish to have a dedicated staff that helps support all of the activities that take place on a day to day basis.

The majority of our staff work part-time and perform a wide range of duties. The following is listing along with contact information. You can click on their name to open an email link.

The Rev. Douglas Dailey, Interim Rector

Fr. Doug brings 30 years’ experience of full-time church work to St. John as our interim rector. A priest of the Diocese of Atlanta, this is his third interim call or position, as he recently served as the interim rector at St. Andrew’s in State College, Pennsylvania and before that was interim dean of St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Laramie, Wyoming. He was the rector of Grace Church in Gainesville, Georgia prior to his service in Laramie, and rector of Trinity Church in Statesville, North Carolina, prior to Gainesville. Fr. Doug went to college at Emory University in Atlanta, where he majored in finance, and followed this by six years as a commercial banker in Atlanta. He prepared for ordained ministry at Lincoln Theological College in Lincoln, England and the University of Nottingham in Nottingham, England. He was ordained deacon and priest in the Diocese of Hereford, England and served as a curate of the Priory Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Leominster, Herefordshire, before returning to the States. He then served as the associate rector of Church of the Ascension in Hickory, North Carolina, before his call to Statesville. Fr. Doug is blessed to have three young adult daughters and two grandchildren – although he can’t figure out how he has gotten so old as to be a grandfather!
