Crop WalkThe money raised by the CROP Hunger Walk goes to feed the hungry in the York Community and around the world. Twenty-five percent of the funds raised remains in York and is provided in grants to church food pantries and organizations that provide food for needy people.The remainder is used by Church World Service (CWS) to provide food and clean water to people around the world.


York Metro CROP Hunger Walk

The St. John team walked in the 2015 York Metro CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 11. It was a beautiful fall day. We had nine walkers who raised over $1350 to support Church World Service. Of that amount, 25% or $335 will be returned to the York CROP Committee to be used in grants to food pantries in York that provide food to needy families. Our faithful walkers were Grace, Catie and Anne Strayer, Max, Lilly and Sarah Reeder, Kris Potter, Kathy Hill and Milton Leake.  This year, we also used on-line registration and donations, raising $775 on-line.  We were the number one team in on-line fund raising in York for this CROP Walk!
