Prayer List
St. John maintains a Parish Prayer List that we include in our weekly worship. Please use the button below to add names of those “in any need or trouble,” as well as other prayer concerns. Names remain on the list for three weeks and may be re-submitted as often as desired. Please use the Optional Details section to communicate additional information or to request a specific time-frame for prayer.
Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who
sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the
joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen (Book of Common Prayer 134).
Pastoral Care
The Pastoral Care Committee exists to provide care and support for all parishioners and especially those in need. The committee works with the Rector to establish a sense of parish community so that parishioners know and receive the care and support of their St. John family, especially during seasons of sorrow, need, sickness or any other adversity.
Parish volunteers are able to provide meals to parishioners coming home from the hospital, recovering from an illness, or welcoming a new child. Volunteers are also available to help with Funeral receptions in the Parish Hall, including set-up, food preparation and clean up.
For parishioners who are unable to attend Eucharist at St. John, we have a dedicated team of Lay Eucharistic Visitors who bring Communion periodically to parishioners requesting service at home. Our Home Communion Kits are blessed during Sunday Eucharist at St. John throughout the year as a way of signaling our unbroken fellowship as the Body of Christ.
