ICONS in Transformation

From August - October, 2022, St. John was proud to host an exhibit of contemporary art by Russian born artist Ludmila Pawlowska. Inspired by traditional Russian Orthodox Icons, ICONS in Transformation is a dramatic and inspiring traveling exhibit of art which has toured cathedrals and museums throughout Europe and the United States.
Ludmila Pawlowska offers a rare opportunity to see both her work and the path of her contemporary vision derived from traditional Russian icons, their transformative power, and her unique painting techniques. This is not necessarily an exhibition about icons, but about Ludmila’s inspiration derived from the icons and her vision of their transformative power.
